Apple Cider Vinegar, A cure for everyday ailments Part 1

Apple cider vinegar was famously used by Hippocrates - the father of medicine - as a remedy for numerous ailments.

Made with crushed, aged apples, this fermented wonder fruit boasts a wealth of health benefits.

Naturally high in potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous, apple cider vinegar has been linked to weight loss, maintaining a healthy digestive system and a host of other health benefits.

While science is yet to provide extensive evidence of many of these benefits, there's no harm in trying this inexpensive, natural remedy before turning to over-the-counter or prescription drugs.

Here are 6 awesome ways you can use apple cider vinegar to cure everyday ailments:

1. Stopping Acid Reflux & Heartburn

Apple cider vinegar helps break down food by assisting the acidic environment of the stomach. Next time you have acid reflux or heartburn, take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with water and see how you feel after ten to twenty minutes.

2. Fighting Candida (Excess Yeast)

Excess yeast in the body (Candida) is a common condition, and research has shown that the acid and enzymes in apple cider vinegar help kill this overgrowth.

Be aware that you may find that taking apple cider vinegar initially makes the condition worse. This is caused the Herxheimer reaction, a process when the body can't remove the toxins from the yeast fast enough, which causes the symptoms to worsen before improving. Stick with it though, as it's actually a good sign,

To assist in curing Candida, take 1 tsp. - 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar in water twice a day, preferably on an empty stomach.

Foods to take to help restore Sex Drive

As people get older, like other physical aspects of life, sex lives often slow down.

“Most couples want a healthy sex life because it makes them feel good about themselves physically and mentally,” says Ellen Kamhi, clinical instructor of pharmacology at Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. “A couple who enjoys a fulfilling sex life usually enjoys a strong relationship. Unfortunately, as couple age, their sex drive can ebb to the point where they lose interest. But it doesn’t have to be that way.”

Low libido is surprising commonly – and not only among older people. Between 40 and 50 percent of U.S. women and 20-25 percent of U.S. men have a low sex drive, according to a recent study.

“This can be due to stress, anxiety, or depression,” Kamhi tells Newsmax Health. “Other factors include low self-esteem, unresolved conflicts, menopause, physical problems, or fatigue.”
While there are many methods to help restore sex drive, certain foods have been found to boost libido naturally, says Kamhi.
1.      Pomegranate juice. New research shows that this tasty and healthy beverage that’s loaded with antioxidants also reduces the risk of erectile dysfunction.
2.      Oatmeal. Besides lowering cholesterol, a bowl of oatmeal daily helps produce a chemical that releases testosterone, which helps increase sex drive.
3.      Honey. The B vitamins in honey support testosterone production. Honey is also high in the mineral boron, which helps women’s bodies process estrogen, a function that is important for arousal.
4.      Eggs. Eggs are high in vitamins B5 and B6, which help libido by balancing hormone levels and fighting stress.
5.      Bananas. Bananas contain an enzyme called bromelain which may help increase libido and has been shown to reverse impotence in men.
6.      Celery. This vegetable contains androsterone, a hormone released in men’s sweat that’s said to be a pheromone that arouses women.

“It’s a myth to think that intimacy necessarily wanes as we get older,” says Kamhi. “Studies have shown that healthy people can enjoy an active sex life into their 70s and beyond.”

Arjuna, A Weapon against Heart Disease

Heart disease is complex. There’s no one magic pill that can treat all of its symptoms.
If you want to lower blood pressure, you’ll need one prescription. If you have angina (chest pain), that’s another. Before you know it, you’ve got a cocktail of meds you need a list of to keep straight. (And probably even more prescriptions on top of that to offset the side effects.)

But nature has a better solution. One substance fights heart disease on multiple fronts at the same time…
If you already suffer from heart disease, it can help ease your pain. People who take 200–500 mg of it lower their occurrences of angina by 50 percent or more.
This natural compound even lowers your risk of dying. If your left ventricle is enlarged, you’re more likely to die from heart disease.  But this can actually reduce the size of your heart’s left ventricle by 20 percent in three months.   And that’s not all…
This compound lowers your systolic blood pressure by about one point a week, and reduces your harmful LDL cholesterol levels by an average of 25 percent in 60 days.
On top of that, it helps your heart use oxygen more efficiently. This prevents your heart’s demand for oxygen from being greater than your body’s supply.
Do you have any idea how many meds you’d need to take to cover all these bases? Meanwhile, Arjuna (AR-jen-ah) does it all.
Arjuna (AR-jen-ah) comes from the bark of a tree found throughout Central and South India. Ayurvedic healers have used it for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. Everything from bone fractures to irregular menstruation. .
It doesn’t cause dangerous side effects. In fact, it doesn’t even cause unpleasant side ones. It has no interactions with prescription drugs. Not only that, but if you’re already on heart medication, Arjuna may help it work more efficiently.
Arjuna is easy to find as a supplement in health stores and online. You can buy it as a pill, powder, or liquid extract. It’s also a common ingredient in top natural heart support formulas.

Green Tea, A Weapon against Type 2 Diabetes

According to one study, animals given the green-tea based antioxidant, EGCG, had a 50% lower blood sugar after eating starch than the animals that didn't get the EGCG but ate the same amount of starch.

This aligns with other studies over the years that green tea and oolong tea can help to control the blood sugar response from a meal due to their unique antioxidants.  So if you're eating a meal that contains carbohydrates, you can protect yourself from the blood sugar spike with a cup or two of green tea along with your meal.
