A recent scientific research study
uncovered that regular consumption of strawberries lowers the risk of
developing type 2 diabetes.
The interesting study revealed that
when table sugar (5 to 6 tablespoons) was consumed with a cup of fresh
strawberries, it did not cause a blood sugar spike- compared to when table
sugar was taken alone (without strawberries).
Researchers explain that a unique
type of polyphenol -ellagitannins found in strawberries are responsible for the
regulation of blood sugar response.
