Natural Ways to treat Bladder Infection (Cystitis)

Bladder infection (cystitis) is a common and annoying problem, especially among women, whose urinary anatomy makes them more vulnerable than men. Eliminate these contributors or aggravators of cystitis include coffee and other forms of caffeine, cigarette and alcohol use, dehydration, excessively frequent or traumatic sex, stress, and poor hygiene (such as wiping from back to front instead of front to back). To end recurrent cystitis, try the following:
1.    Increase your intake of water so that you urinate more frequently, allowing less time for any irritants to contact the bladder wall.
2.    Eat or drink more cranberries. Cranberries contain a substance that makes it difficult for bacteria to adhere to the wall of the bladder. Drink eight to 16 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice a day, or try 500 mg daily of cranberry extract.
3.    Don't hold on to urine when you feel the urge to urinate.
4.    Consume probiotic foods, such as plain yogurt or kefir.
5.    Avoid wearing tight-fitting pants. Also, wear cotton-crotch underwear and pantyhose, and use mild detergents when washing underwear.

Foods to take to Boost Testosterone Naturally

Men can boost testosterone levels naturally by increasing their intake of certain foods. They include:

1. Oysters. Oysters contain zinc, which in addition to increasing testosterone, increases muscle growth, physical endurance, and sperm production. Other foods high in zinc include chicken liver and pumpkin seeds. Zinc also helps wounds to heal.

2. Broccoli. Increasing the amount of cruciferous vegetables in your diet, which include broccoli,  cabbage and cauliflower, rids the body of excess estrogen, thus increasing testosterone. A study found that diets high in indole-3-carbinol, a component of cruciferous vegetables, increase the excretion of estradiol (one of the most important estrogen hormones) in men by up to 50 percent. Crucifers are also high in fiber, which can help with weight control, and losing weight can also increase your body's production of testosterone.

3. Garlic. Animal studies conducted at Japan's Kobe's Women's University found that garlic boosts testosterone when combined with a high-protein diet for a month. Garlic contains the chemical diallyl disulfide, which stimulates the body to release a hormone that spurs the production of testosterone.

4. Bananas. Bananas contain the enzyme bromelain, which some studies have found boosts a man's libido. They are also rich in B vitamins, such as riboflavin, which are essential for the manufacturing of testosterone. Pineapples are also rich in bromelain.

5. Brazil nuts. Brazil nuts are high in magnesium, which helps raise testosterone levels. A recent study found that athletes given about 750 mg of magnesium daily for four weeks increased their free testosterone by 26 percent. An Italian study found that older men who had low levels of magnesium had lower levels of testosterone than men who had the highest magnesium levels.

6. Eggs. Eggs are rich in vitamin D, which is essential for optimal testosterone levels. One study found that men who were deficient in vitamin D had lower levels of testosterone and higher levels of estrogen than men who weren't deficient. Although vitamin D supports the production of testosterone, researchers believe it also hampers a process in which testosterone is converted into estrogen in men (aromatization). A second study gave vitamin D supplements to men with both vitamin D deficiency and low testosterone levels. At the end of a year, the men who were given vitamin D saw their testosterone levels rise by 20 percent when compared to a placebo group.

Walnuts against High Cholesterol

If you’re like most Americans, getting your cholesterol checked is a bit like submitting your taxes. It hurts, and it’s usually bad news. There’s this positively exciting new study out of Penn State that shows that one delicious nut may help you crunch your way to lower cholesterol and a healthier heart.
And here’s the best part — this noble nut is jam-packed with heart-protecting fatty acids that go to work protecting your ticker in MINUTES, not days!
Here’s the scoop. Researchers at Penn State asked 15 overweight adults with high cholesterol to add tasty walnuts to their daily diet. They could eat whole nuts, just the meat of the nuts, or down a small helping of walnut oil, which you can buy for a few cents a day at any health food store.
The results were just amazing.
Researchers began testing the heart and blood vessel health of their subjects just 30 minutes after they consumed walnuts, and it’s a good thing — because this miracle nut goes to work FAST.
Just taking one teaspoon of walnut oil after a meal was all it took to improve blood vessel integrity, which is absolutely critical if you’re suffering from cardiovascular disease. Folks who ate whole walnuts saw an extra benefit, too — the fatty acids in walnuts actually helped their bodies remove excess cholesterol.
That means less sticky gunk clogging up your arteries, just waiting to cause a heart attack or leave you with a long and painful zipper scar down your chest.

Peppers, A Weapon against Parkinson's Disease

According to some very brilliant New York researchers, one favorite pizza toppings may just hold the key to preventing Parkinson’s disease!
If you’re serious about staving off Parkinson’s, which can cause tremors, stiffness, and a loss of muscle control and independence, start tossing the dough now. Just make sure you have a healthy supply of fresh peppers on hand!
Researchers have long observed that cigarette smokers seem to have a lower risk of developing Parkinson’s disease, and they’ve surmised that nicotine plays a role in preventing the disease from developing.
There’s only one problem with that — assuming the risks of heart disease, stroke, and cancer that come with cigarettes just so you can avoid a fairly rare disease like Parkinson’s just doesn’t make sense.
End of the story, right? Not so fast. You see, peppers are actually from the same plant family as tobacco, and they’re excellent natural sources of nicotine. So researchers analyzed data on over 1,000 patients — nearly half had developed Parkinson’s — and what they found could forever change how we prevent this debilitating disease.
Folks who included the most peppers (any variety…bell, hot, etc…) in their diets had a dramatically lower risk of developing Parkinson’s! That one miracle vegetable that tops your pizza and salads may be fortifying your brain against a dangerous and incurable disease.

Foods for High Level of Energy

Are you always tired & feel don’t have the energy to last the whole day?

Research from the University of South Carolina shows that red apples and other dark fruits like red grapes, blueberries, red cherries, and blackberries may unlock the secret to beating your exhaustion for good. That's because these fruits are loaded with quercetin, a flavonoid that functions as a powerful antioxidant in your body.

The science behind quercetin is a little complicated, but here's the core of the issue (pun most definitely intended). Quercetin goes to work on your cells' mitochondria, which are like little power stations that feed your body the energy it needs. Plus, quercetin prevents dangerous free radicals from damaging your cells, and leading to disease and premature aging.

Quercetin isn't just useful for an energy boost -- it helps you enjoy your favorite activities longer by improving your endurance levels. And the health benefits of quercetin don't stop there. As
we've told you before, quercetin has been proven in studies to cut your stroke risk and even ward off certain types of cancer.

Spring is in the air, friend, and I want you outside enjoying it. Load up on these tasty fruits packed with quercetin, and see how much better you can feel!
